It's a Domke. It's awesome.
This is my third Domke. Bought it due to Waxwear lust. I'll probably only ever buy Domke bags until I need something that offers a lot more protection. |
Love the outside...

...but only like the inside.
I have to say the bag is terrific in how it looks and feels. Never thought I'd be concerned about the aesthetics of a camera bag, but this bag just looks so nice.
The space inside? I just came back from carrying around two bodies, three primes and a flash. One body has a dual battery pack. Everything fit very nice in that regard, the inserts were perfect for that load. About the only negative I have has to do with what I usually carry around for casual shooting or for shooting sports, which is a Nikon body and a 70-200 2.8 lens. With that lens on the body it takes up the full length of the bag, and makes the padded inserts unusable.
I'm going to take the inserts out of one of my old bags and cobble together an insert to better fit that camera/lens combo.
Back to the bag itself. The material and stitching are solid. The bag sheds rain drops very well, and with water beading on the surface there is no wetting of the material. Wipe or shake it off and it's essentially dry. That's nice.
The cover flap is large enough to provide good protection even when not snapped closed.
The shoulder strap is pretty comfortable "as is", which is without the padded version. I did not buy the backpack strap.
I'm considering cutting off or masking the DOMKE logo just to make the bag a little more nondescript when walking around. |
Good Functional Camera Bag

| I like to take this bag when I am out walking with my camera and a couple of lenses. I wish that the velcro insert was not fixed with four compartments; it would be more useful if you could change the compartment size but it is a great day bag. There are lots of pockets and storage spaces allowing you easy access to your accessories, keeping them organized and available. The waxwear finish is very nice, especially if you catch yourself in some precipitation. I don't think it is sturdy enough to protect your equipment when you are traveling but that is not its purpose. It is light weight and very easy to carry, although I did also purchase the cushion for the shoulder strap, which makes a big difference because your bag can get quite heavy with you are carrying alot of extras. I think the bag has a very nice look to it regardless of your gender. |
