18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 DC leća je isključivo dizajniran tako da odgovaraju karakteristike digitalnih SLR kamera. Idealan kao predjelo standardni objektiv za zumiranje, ovaj objektiv nudi ekvivalentan raspon od otprilike. 28-80mm ako se koristi s Canon digitalni SLR fotoaparat (*). Korištenje asferične leće osigurava korekciju raznih aberacija tijekom cijelog raspona zooma i proizvode visoke razine optičke performanse.
DC objektivi su isključivo namijenjena za digitalni SLR fotoaparati. Slika krug (stražnji dio objektiva) je napravljen da odgovara manjih dimenzija koja se koristi za senzor slike u digitalnim fotoaparatima. Kao rezultat ove leće su također više kompaktan i lagan, i bolje odgovaraju digitalni SLR fotoaparati.

 Good replacement for Canon 18-55 |

| Bought this lens after I broke the original 18-55 lens of my EOS Rebel xTi. The official Canon replacement was ridiculously overpriced, so I got this one. Works just fine! I can't evaluate the new lens in technical terms, I don't notice any differences between the new and old lens, except this one looks a lot more solidly built. Same filter size. |

| Sigma 18-50mm is a great lens for someone looking to save a few bucks or for a novice. All my friends who are die hard slr junkies cant believe the quality it puts out. Its a must have! |

| For under $100 you will not find a better lens than this. Equal to about 29mm on a Canon crop body dSLR, it is a wide angle lens. This is a very under rated lens in my opinion FOR THIS PRICE. Built well and very sharp at F8. |
