The Domke J-2 is a simple well designed bag. It has removeable padded inserts and bottom stiffener. I can carry a digital camera body, 2 prime lenses, 1 normal zoom, 2 portable strobes, pocket wizards and various cables, and batteries with some room left over.
The construction of this bag is extremely rugged. I have the "Ballistic" material which seems invincible to me. The material is also waterproofed so in the rain the water runs right off -- as long as you close the pockets and top correctly, your gear will be safe.
One of the things I like about the Domke bags is the modular compartment inserts you can buy to configure your bag how you need it. Let's say you have several configurations for your kit depending on your assignments. You can preset some inserts with the proper gear and store them in your drybox. When you need to swap out the kits, just remove and replace. |
